When nothing but the very best will do, choose Premium ('A' Extra) Grade Eastern White Cedar shingles. This superior grade has no imperfections and is suitable for use on roofs and walls of all residential or commercial buildings. They are fine grained and are light to pale brown in colour.
Our Eastern White Cedar shingles are cut with stellite-tipped saws to ensure precise cuts and minimise raised grain. They are then re-squared and rebutted. Re-squared means that they are cut parallel which saves time on installation as it eliminates the need for trimming. Re-butted means they are trimmed at the butt to provide smoother, smarter ends and create an impeccable final finish. They are then kiln-dried for greater stability and durability.
Eastern white cedar shingles age well. If left in their natural unfinished state they will take on a distinctive silver grey appearance. They have a good adhesion capacity for finish and stain, so different architectural effects can be achieved by applying a suitable exterior wood finish such as Cabot SPF.
Dimensions may vary due to kiln-drying.
