Product Overview:
Certi-Ridge™ hip & ridge units are pre-manufactured caps for hips and ridges made from number one grade cedar shingles. Their use makes considerable savings in construction time. Each unit is fastened together by 2 staples which allow sufficient flexibility to accomodate a range of pitches. Cappings should be laid with alternate bevels and concealed nailing. Weather exposures should be at the same gauge as the field of the roof. For additional weatherproofing install a strip of Type IF roofing felt under the capping.

Bundle: Hip & ridges are supplied in bundles of 40 units; 20 left-hand and 20 right-hand bevels.

Not all cedar shake and shingle products are alike. Certi-label products, manufactured by Cedar Shake & Shingle Bureau members, assure you of the highest quality standards. Member mills have committed to consistent quality through independent third-party inspections by accredited agencies. Each bundle of product has the mill's distinctive Certi-label tucked under the bundle strap. Asking for "the blue label" or "number one blue label" is not specific enough. Cedar Bureau members' products are the only ones with the Certi brand name on the label.
Recommended Exposure:
- 5" or 127mm exposure between overlaps
Recommended use:
The appropriate hip and ridge unit should be selected to match the adjacent shingles or shakes. However, in many areas a tapersawn hip and ridge units is used on both shingle and shake applications. Hip and ridge product type selection should be performed in accordance with the aesthetic look desired.
