THOR Torrefied Wood™

This natural heat treated cladding is warranted against wood decay for 60 years and provides you total peace of mind for years to come.

Adopted centuries ago by the Vikings to enhance wood resistance and durability, torrefaction is a 100% natural process that involves prolonged, high temperature treatment of wood reaching 400° F (approximately 200° C) making it extraordinarily stable.

With THOR Torrefied Wood™, Silva offers you the best that heat treated wood can provide.

THOR Torrefied Wood™ cladding is available in a rebated bevel profile that is easy to install and gives an impeccable finish with no visible fasteners. A range of trim boards and corner pieces is also available. Thor™ cladding and trim is supplied with a factory applied stain and is therefore ready to install upon delivery - no preparation or finishing is required on site.

THOR Torrefied Wood™ cladding can either be supplied finished with a clear stain or a solid colour stain. Clear stains are available in a choice of three natural wood tones; cedar, mahogany and walnut. Solid stains are available in a choice of over 100 standard colours or a custom colour can be mixed to your specification. The solid colour stain option comes with a 15 year warranty against coating failure.

THOR Torrefied Wood™ cladding is manufactured in Canada by Maibec®, North America's leading manufacturer of factory finished cladding products. Due to the wide range of colour options that are available THOR Torrefied Wood™ is only available to order however the lead time is relatively short. Orders are placed with Maibec® on the first of the every month and the lead time from this point is six to eight weeks.
