Product Overview:
Western Red Cedar bevel cladding is kiln dried ensuring that it can be installed and finished without the need for acclimatisation on site. It is produced from consistently high quality A & Better Clear grade Western Red Cedar. This grade is almost free from natural flaws, only very occasional tiny grown-in knots and very minor imperfections are permitted, and will not detract from its high end appearance. When the best appearance is required, clear is the only appropriate choice.
Now we have gone one step further to ensure our product is the very best available - our product is predominantly 'vertical grain'. Vertical grain means that the timber is sawn at approximately right angles to the annual growth rings so that the rings form an angle of 45% or more with the surface of the board.
The growth rings are parallel with each other and are very close together (dense). This will give your project a uniform appearance from one board to another. Vertical grain cedar is more stable than flat grain which means that boards are less likely to warp, twist, or cup. Vertical grain also tends to hold paints and finishes better.
